    DESCRIPTION:
    This auction is for a antique Martha Chase stockinet baby doll with Second Place doll club red ribbon attached to gown.  Martha Chase dolls are from Pawtucket RI., 1889+, some are marked, I did not see a stamp or mark on this doll, she shows overall wear. She measures 17" tall being oil cloth with applied ears, thumbs and textured hair. The early dolls like this one are jointed at the shoulders & elbows. This doll is a shoulder head, with oil cloth hands and legs, torso is cloth. The mitten style hands/fingers and toes show paint wear. Also there are places of red and blue paint on the body torso, this is how I purchased her. She has painted blue eyes, painted lashes, single stroke brown eye brows and closed mouth. I notice paint touch up on her eyes and lashes, see photos, I do not know her past history and or what restore could have been done.  She has the distinctive Chase hair style with I believe a little restoration throughout the hair/head areas, see photo, again I do not know her history. Her antique dress has a button down the back, she has one piece undies, pantaloons and Second Place Red Ribbon from Lake Erie Doll Club in 2000 attached to her dress. I have taken plenty of photos,
