    Description

    All original black cloth doll.
35 cm large handmade doll, elaborated to the finest detail with ears, loose fingers and a well-formed body.
Embroidered eyes, eyebrows, mouth and sculpted nose.
Wig of tulle. The design, all materials used, as well as the top and bottom clothing indicate that the doll was made in America in the period 1885-1890.
The earrings, made from American toy coins - representing the 5 cents Liberty Head 1888 - give an extra dimension to this interesting doll and would confirm the dating.
Condition: very well for age: she has some loose fabric at her chest, could be easily mended with few stitches if required, but I will leave that to her new owner.
Clothing yellowed by age, and at the back of her veil, some spots and small holes.
This doll was in the collection of Catharina van Eijk-Prasing, (9 -11- 1936 to 4-1- 2016)
author of the book "Een leven lang spelen" (
    A Lifetime Of Playing
    ).
Shipping to USA by post is around 40 USD, but can take a very long time to arrive. By express the cost will around 80 USD, but it should be delivered in 1 week.
