Charming, 15" tall, (large) all cloth, near mint condition, early
circa 1920-30,
labeled: Made in Russia/Willage (Village Shepherd) Boy,
young adult male doll,
Vladimir
, with stockinette head and wonderfully detailed hands as described on page 76, "15th Blue Book"-Foulke. He has expertly molded and painted facial features with very sensitive and attractive, painted blue eyes with high lights,
molded eyelids
, brows, closed lips, reddish blond, thick
flax hair
and very detailed and multi-layered linen shirt with offset opening, (
kosovorotka
) beautifully decorated, ethnic costume beneath his original, brown flannel coat and matching hat. He holds a wooden flute (
rozhok
) instrument on a cord in one hand (finely stitched fingers) and another cord belt tied at his waist, matching brown striped trousers tied just below his knees and tightly wrapped muslin leg wraps tied with cord and wonderful
woven wicker, straw-type shoes

Perfect condition with no damage, fading or repairs, no holes or tears and no odors as he is from a smoke free home. (loc 18)                                   Other
