Vintage WPPSI Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence IQ Kit 1967
This vintage IQ kit, in its original box, is in remarkably great condition for a 54 year old item. The print on the box remains bright red. This test kit appears to have been used just a few times, judging by the condition of the test materials, the condition of the Manual, and the number of unused test booklets remaining in the kit. Everything a psychologist needed to test the IQ of children ages 4 through 6 years is included, with all original test materials and many extra blank test forms.
In its original box with clean spiral-bound Manual, all test equipment, and many extra blank forms. Especially valuable is the very scarce 1967 WPPSI Psychological Animal Test with all test cylinders. The Manual has no writing in it and no dog-eared pages (but see the description below for specifics about the Manual Appendix).
This is an important addition to any collection of vintage psychological tests.

The Manual has a discussion of the concept of mental development and IQ, and provides 24 tables that give information about the standardization sample, IQ classifications, and other statistics.
The Animal House test serves a similar purpose as the WISC-R Coding test and the WAIS-R Digit Symbol test. The test consists of a board, at the top of which is a key containing pictures of a cat, fish, chicken, and dog.
Below each animal on the key is a colored cylinder (the child is told that the cylinder is the animal's house). The rest of the board contains pictures of each animal with a hole underneath. The child is given twenty colored cylinders and told to give each animal a house the same color as the house for that animal in the key. Speed and accuracy are scored.
Condition: This 54-year old IQ test looks excellent for its age. Please inspect pictures for more details as they are part of the description. It comes in its original box and, as the photo shows, the red WPSSI, Psychological Corporation and Psychology logo are bright and unfaded. But see the imperfections shown in the last 3 photos. One side panel of the box has about a 1/2 inch tear on the surface (but does not go through the entire panel and does not affect the box’s utility. The top and one side panel have marks on them as seen in the photos. The bottom right corner of the Manual’s Appendix (about the last 20 pages) and back cover is creased. Please look at all the photos and ask questions because this IQ test kit is sold AS IS.
